Omiros College is an accredited school which was founded in 1984. Although it is one of the newest Greek language schools in Melbourne, it is the largest in Australia, with 1200 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College is accredited by the Dept. of Education and the VCAA. It has a number of campuses in various suburbs in the metropolitan area to service the community. Its curriculum, which is based on the Curriculum Standards Framework (CSF) guidelines, is considered by the Authorities to be one of the most comprehensive for the teaching of Greek as a LOTE.
The College has spared neither effort nor cost for the achievement of the highest possible level in the teaching of the Greek language and the maintenance and propagation of Greek culture. In its 20 years of operation, the College has been recognised as an educational institution which:
